James 5:16-18 declares, "…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." When we pray to the Lord, recognizing Him for who He is and what He has done, it is an act of worship. We are told in scripture: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. -Romans 12:12. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. – Psalm 145:18. Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. -1 Chronicles 16:11.  I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 1 Timothy 2:1. We are to be a praying people. We are to make our petitions known and to pray for others. There is POWER in prayer.
